The Perfect Pour

St. Augustine • Kristen Cumiskey and Alicia Lane

They will tell you how much alcohol to buy, for free, before you have hired them. That is the whole pitch and it is a good one.

The Perfect Pour is a mobile bartending company in St. Augustine, run by Kristen Cumiskey and Alicia Lane. Licensed, fully insured, and by their own account the first mobile bar in the city. We have worked a lot of weddings standing about thirty feet from their bar.

The number most couples get wrong

They do not sell you the alcohol. You buy it, they pour it. That sounds like extra work and it is actually where the money is, because retail beer and wine costs a fraction of venue bar pricing.

The catch is that almost nobody knows how much to buy. Buy short and the bar runs dry at nine. Buy long and you have paid for eleven unopened bottles of prosecco that nobody will drink for a year.

They give you a purchasing guide before the event, at no charge, as part of a free consultation. Guest count in, shopping list out. Ask for it early — it is genuinely the most useful free thing any wedding vendor hands out, and you can use it to price your bar before you commit to anything.

Ask your venue one question first

Does the venue run its own licensed bar, or is it bring-your-own?

If the venue has its own bar, you do not need a mobile company at all and anyone selling you one is selling you a duplicate. If it is bring-your-own — which covers most of the barns and a good number of the historic properties around St. Augustine — then somebody licensed has to pour, and that is a real line in your budget rather than an upsell.

Two minutes on the phone to your venue tells you which conversation you are having.

Why we care who is behind the bar

Selfish reason: a long bar line empties a dance floor. People queue, they get talking, they settle in with a drink, and then we are working twice as hard to get them back up. A bar that moves fast is doing our job for us.

Their staffing is built around that. They scale bartenders and bar-backs to your guest count instead of sending a flat two people, and their reviews mention exactly this — drinks ready, no line, guests dancing instead of waiting.

What else they will bring

The detail

The pour
Licensed, insured bartenders. Beer, wine, liquor, and specialty cocktails if you want them.
The kit
For an extra charge: glassware or plastic ware, mixers, garnishes, ice, napkins, straws. Everything except the alcohol.
Extra hands
Servers, bussers, an ID checker, even a parking attendant. Handy at a venue that gives you a field and a permit.
Mixology class
A two-hour session for a shower, rehearsal dinner or bachelorette. Cheaper than a night out and your guests remember it.

A custom drink menu or a signature cocktail costs you nothing extra to ask about, and it is the sort of detail guests actually mention afterwards.
