Planning + Coordination

Coastal Celebrations

St. Augustine • Planning since 2009

The useful thing to know about them is that you do not have to buy the whole package.

Coastal Celebrations has been planning St. Augustine weddings since 2009, when it was two people. It is now eight lead planners and a full-time office manager, run by owner and senior planner Lindsay Ohlin.

They sit on 420 reviews at a flat 5.0 on The Knot and have won Best of Weddings nine times, which puts them in that site's Hall of Fame. Woman-owned, and based in St. Augustine rather than driving down to it.

We work with their team. That is why they are on this page and not just a name we found online - our DJs have stood in the same rooms as their coordinators and know how they run a night.

You do not have to buy full planning

This is the part most couples miss, and it is why they are on this page.

A lot of people assume hiring a planner means hiring the whole thing - every decision, start to finish, at a price that puts it out of reach. That is one of four things Coastal Celebrations sells, and it is the biggest one.

Ceremony coordinationTheir smallest tier. Built for couples getting married on the beach and celebrating somewhere else - they set up the ceremony and break it back down while you go be with your guests.
Day ofYou planned it yourself. They run it on the day so you are not the one answering questions in your dress.
AdvisoryHelp with the decisions rather than the doing - which venue, which vendors, how the day should look.
Full planningConcept to execution, all of it.

If you are budgeting carefully, the day-of tier is usually the one worth pricing. You have already done the work of choosing everything. What you are buying is somebody whose job is the timeline, so it is not your mother-in-law chasing the caterer.

They quote by the size and complexity of the wedding rather than publishing a price list, so you have to ask. Ask about the smaller tiers specifically - a company that will sell you ceremony coordination instead of talking you up to full planning is telling you something worth knowing.

Where this matters most

St. Augustine is a city of historic buildings, tight downtown streets and beach ceremonies that run on the tide. Load-in windows are real, parking is a decision, and the sun sets when it sets.

A team that has been booking these rooms since 2009 has walked into all of them, in every kind of weather. That experience is most of what you are paying for, and it is worth more on a tight budget than on a loose one - because when a budget is tight there is nothing spare to fix a mistake with.
