All About Events

All About Events is a party and event rental company in Jacksonville, started by Jeff Crotto in 2010 and now twelve people. They cover Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra, Fernandina Beach and up into Brunswick, Georgia.

We work alongside them a lot. They are the name on the rental order at a good number of the weddings we DJ around here, so this is not a company we picked off a directory to fill out a page.

They have also hired us to DJ their own personal events. A rental company sees every DJ around here work, on the good days and the bad ones, so that one counts for more than a review does.

Ask your venue this before you price anything

Get a written list of what the room fee already covers.

Tables and chairs are frequently included. A dance floor and a tent are almost never included, and those two are the biggest single line items on most rental orders. Couples routinely price a full rental package before finding out half of it was already in the contract.

Two numbers we would check on your order

We are the ones standing at the end of the dance floor, so these are the two lines we look at first.

Dance floor size. We plan on about half your guest count being on the floor at once, at roughly four and a half square feet each. For 100 guests that lands near a 15 by 15 floor. Renting a bigger one than that is money you can put somewhere else, and a floor that reads as full is not actually a problem - it is what a good night looks like.

Tent power. A tent is a field with a roof over it. No outlets. Our rig, the lights, the caterer's warmers and the coffee urns all want power, so find out who is supplying the generator and how many circuits it gives you. Ask in March, not in October.
