Jon Noeth

Noeth Films • St. Augustine

Corey has worked a ton of weddings and events alongside Jon over fifteen years. Filming St. Augustine weddings since 2012, with a documentary degree behind it, monthly payment plans, and a ceremony-only option for couples who thought video was off the table.

Why he is on this page

Corey has known Jon for about fifteen years and has worked a ton of weddings and events alongside him - starting long before either of these companies existed. That is the honest reason he is here, and we would rather say so than pretend a directory listing is objective.

It also means this is not a friend being done a favor. Fifteen years of sharing the same rooms is a much harder test than a portfolio, and the work holds up on its own anyway. Jon founded Noeth Films in St. Augustine in 2012 and has a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and Design with a focus in Documentary Studies. An actual degree in filming real things as they happen, not a photographer who added video later.

The money, straight

We are the affordable DJ company, so this is the part we care about most.

He offers monthly payment plans. His site says it plainly - flexible plans, just tell them what works for your timeline and budget. Almost no wedding vendor advertises that, and for a lot of couples it is the entire difference between having a film and not having one. Spreading it over months is not a discount, but it is often the thing that actually makes it possible.

Ceremony-only coverage is on his a la carte list. Thirty minutes of ceremony, delivered either as a short highlight film or as the full-length raw ceremony. It is a fraction of a full-day package and it covers the part of the day you are least likely to remember clearly - the fifteen minutes you will most want back.

His entire price list is published on his own site, package by package, with the add-ons priced separately. We are not going to reprint numbers that will go stale - go read them there. But the fact that they are public at all tells you something. Vendors who make you request a quote to find out if you can afford them are wasting your time on purpose.

What a DJ actually notices

Couples never think to ask this, and it matters more than the camera spec.

A camera crew can kill a dance floor. Not the footage - the floor. A light panel swung into a packed room, someone backing through the middle of a song for an angle, a lens right up on a couple who had finally stopped thinking about being filmed. We spend all night getting a room to let go and it can come apart fast.

Jon's crew works the opposite way. His FAQ says they move quietly and that most guests will not realize they were there - and he aims to be, in his words, "the kind of videographer your photographer is happy to have on the team." That is the trait we would put above everything else on the list.

One practical thing while we are here: most of the audio in a wedding film comes off the DJ system - vows, toasts, the officiant. The clean way to get it is a feed straight from our board. Whoever you hire, have them ask us. We always say yes.

A family business

Melissa Noeth joined in 2015 and handles client experience - the emails, the timelines, the part of hiring a vendor that either feels easy or feels like chasing someone. Two more lead videographers shoot with them: Dan Florez, a professional since 2008 who studied fine art at Flagler College, and Chase Dela Cruz, eleven years an editor after six years acting.

Between Jon and Melissa there are three kids and a golden retriever, which tells you about how much a Saturday costs them. We mention it because it is why they answer emails like people rather than like a booking system.

One thing to be straight about

We sell our own photo and video packages bundled with the DJ, and for plenty of our couples that bundle is simply the better value. That is a real answer, not a hedge.

The split is straightforward. If video is a nice-to-have and price decides it, take our bundle. If you want a documentary filmmaker with fourteen years in this town and you would rather stretch the payments than skip it, go and watch his films and ask him about a plan.

Still need a DJ for that date?

We work weddings across St. Augustine, Jacksonville and Northeast Florida, and we are always glad to hand a videographer a clean audio feed.
