Who he is
Corey has spent a good number of wedding days working alongside Pablo over the last four years - which is the whole reason he is on this page rather than a name pulled off a review site.
Pablo Rene runs Rene Visuals out of Jacksonville. He grew up in the wedding industry - more than ten years of it - and describes finding his real job the day he picked up a camera. Rene Visuals is a collective of creative visual artists doing boutique photography and cinematography for weddings, elopements, engagements, cultural events and destination weddings.
His own line about how he works is the one worth repeating: the key to authentic work is crafting a relaxed and fun environment that brings out genuine expressions and emotions. That is a claim about the room, not about the camera, and it is the correct thing to care about.

Let us be honest about the money
We are the affordable DJ company. It would be strange to put a vendor in front of you without telling you where they sit, so: Rene Visuals is an investment, not a bargain option. His collections have a published starting price on his own site, and it is more than most of our couples spend on the DJ.
We are still putting him here, for two reasons.
First, he says it himself, before you ask. His contact page tells you a film is one of the bigger investments you will make and asks you to understand what that keepsake represents before you inquire. Nobody wastes an afternoon on a call that was never going to work. If the number is out of reach, you find out in thirty seconds instead of three emails.
Second, elopements are on his list and he wants more of them. His site says outright that he is constantly striving to book more elopements. A small ceremony filmed properly costs a fraction of full-day coverage, and if you are having a short, simple day anyway, that is a real route to a film rather than a downgrade.
He tells you who he is for
Almost no wedding vendor will do this. On his contact page he says he is after couples who are adventurous, free spirited and non-traditional, because those are the stories he loves interpreting - and then, in the same breath, says that if you are planning a beautiful traditional wedding you are still welcome to reach out.
Read that as a compliment to you rather than a filter. A vendor who has decided who they are is a vendor who will bring a point of view to your day. The ones who claim to be perfect for everybody are usually the ones shooting the same wedding over and over.
Photo and video from one company
Worth knowing if you are pricing this out: Rene Visuals shoots stills as well as film. One studio covering both is a different arrangement than hiring a photographer and a videographer separately, and it is worth asking him what that looks like together rather than assuming.
We also sell our own photo and video packages bundled with the DJ, and for plenty of our couples that bundle is simply the better value. Both things are true. Ask us for a number, ask him for a number, and pick the one that fits the day you are actually planning.

Rooms we both know
His portfolio runs through venues our DJs work regularly - Casa Marina at Jacksonville Beach, Epping Forest Yacht Club and The Ribault Club in Jacksonville, and the Lightner Museum and Treasury on the Plaza down in St. Augustine. Different weddings, same rooms, same load-in doors.
One practical note from the DJ side. Most of the audio in a wedding film comes off our system - the vows, the toasts, the officiant. The clean way to get it is a feed straight from our board rather than a mic pointed at a speaker from across the room. Whoever you hire, have them ask us. We will always say yes.
